Eggy in a basket-recipe for kids





Wikipedia lists these alternative names (most of them sound disgusting!):
  • Spit in the Eye
  • Egg in a Hole
  • Egg With a Hole in the Middle
  • Bullseye Eggs
  • Toad in the Hole
  • Eggy in the Basket
  • Moonstruck Eggs

Ingredients:-serves one

Bread-2slices
Egg-1
Salt a pinch
Apple sauce/pancake sauce or any sweet sauce to your taste


Directions:-


  • Take a bread and a glass.
  • Press the edge of the glass to the center of the bread to cut one circular piece of it out.
  • Now heat a frying pan with butter dabbed and toast the bread with hole and the circle cut. You can toast the second slice though.
  • Now crack one egg and plunge in to the bread hole.Salt it.
  • let it cook there.
  • If you wish to flip it over and cook the yellow do so.
  • Once toasted take out and hide the egg with the cut round bread.
  • Adorn and sweeten your toast with your favorite sauce.
If you want a spicy one just pepper it and keep  a cheese layer and sandwich with the other slice.

Banana smoothie-Recipe for kids



Ingredients:- 

Banana-2( robust) 
Cold milk-1 Cup/Soymilk
Honey/sugar-1 tspn
Vanilla essence- 1 tspn
Chocolate(semi sweetened) chips- 2 tspn

Direction:-




  • Melt the chocolate chips with some milk ( and marshmallows, who desires for it)over a medium flamed stove top or a microwave.
  • Blend rest of the ingredients in a blender.
  • Add it to the juice with vanilla and give a swirl.
BRAT-Banana, Rice, applesauce,toast
The BRAT diet is, historically, a prescribed treatment for patients with gastrointestinal distress such as diarrheadyspepsia, and/or gastroenteritis. The BRAT diet consists of foods that are relatively bland and low in fiber.

Thai banana with coconut milk-Recipe for kids

Ingredients:-


Banana-1 cut into bite-able chunks
Coconut milk-1 cup
Salt-1/4 tspn
Sugar-1/4 cup(4tblspn)


Directions:-

  • Boil the coconut milk in a pan for 2 min.
  • Add the sugar and salt to fully dissolve.
  • Add in the banana and cook it for another 3-4 min.
  • Munch it..

Pineapple chunky-Recipe for kids





Yummy yummy pineapple.. 'A' for 'apple' is the first word kids learn is their school. And so they never forget it. Same here with the juicy yellow pine-apple. Once the taste buds sense it the brain's grey matter stores the tangy savor to propel us later to hog it.


Kids should be fed with lots of calories since they are always active and lose energy fast. They learn fast and many new things when they come out to this world  from their mother's womb during the first quarter of their life. Pineapple shoots up a sharp brain and memory.

Ingredients:-


Pineapple crushed-1 cup
Milk-1 cup
Butter/Margarine-2tblspn(can reduce)
Sugar-half cup(optional)
Half a lemon


Directions:-


  • Crush the pineapple into bite-able chunks.
  • Boil Milk.
  • Melt in butter.
  • Add pineapple and remove from heat.
  • Add sugar. This is  optional if the pineapple if enough ripen.
  • Squeeze in the lemon juice.
  • Done.

Floating strawberry/ Fruit salad -Recipe for kids.




Strawberry and health benefits are briefly mentioned here .


Ingredients:-

Strawberry-5( or any other fruit)
Milk- 3/4 cup
Sugar-1/4 cup
Egg- 2
Vanilla- 1 tspn
Lemon-half

Directions:-

  • Boil the milk with sugar and let it
    cool till it becomes warm.
  • Meanwhile beat the egg well using a
    whisk and keep aside
  • Make the strawberry juice using a blender and add lemon juice to it.
  • Now place the warm milk over the stove
    at medium flame and you can see small bubbles peeking on the edges.
    Simmer the flame. Drip beaten egg slowly into the warm milk stirring
    simultaneously.
  • Keep stirring for 20- 25 min. U can see
    the milk turning thick like a custard. Please note, not to step off the
    stove until it thickens. Lest the egg curdles up. Also the flame should
    be lowest.
  • Now take the custard off the stove .
  • Add vanilla essence.
  • Add the juice.
  • Done.

Floating Yellow / Fruit salad- Recipe for kids

Before we start let us remind ourselves of the health benefits of  Banana. Click here


Ingredients:-
Banana-1
Milk- 3/4 cup
Sugar-1/4 cup
Egg- 2
Vanilla- 1 tspn
Optional:-
Semi sweet chocolate chips- 2 tblspn
Water- 2 tblspn
Directions:-
  • Boil the milk with sugar and let it
    cool till it becomes warm.
  • Meanwhile beat the egg well using a
    whisk and keep aside
  • Slice the banana into chewable pieces.
    If u wish, can cook the banana over a non stick pan with 1 tspn of butter for
    10 min at a medium low flame with lid on. And move it into a serving
    dish. You can also make it juice using a blender.
  • Now place the warm milk over the stove
    at medium flame and you can see small bubbles peeking on the edges.
    Simmer the flame. Drip beaten egg slowly into the warm milk stirring
    simultaneously.
  • Keep stirring for 20- 25 min. U can see
    the milk turning thick like a custard. Please note, not to step off the
    stove util it thickens. Lest the egg curdles up. Also the flame should
    be lowest.
  • Now take the custard off the stove .
  • Add vanilla essence.
  • Optional: Melt the chocolate with water
    in a pan at medium flame. And add this to the custard. Mix well.
  • And pour the custard over the banana.
  • Yummy.. Have ur favorite Floating
    Yellow.
  • Kids would love this dish.
